Collection: Lab Coats for Medical Students

A lab coat is the first thing most medical colleges ask new students to bring. You wear it in the dissection hall, in practical labs and later on clinical postings. In Indian medical colleges it is usually called an apron or a doctor's apron; elsewhere it is a lab coat or a white coat. XBONZ makes a white, half-sleeve lab coat for MBBS and other medical students.

The XBONZ half sleeve lab coat

The unisex medical lab coat, half sleeve is white, made from a cotton blend, has a unisex cut and comes in standard sizes from S to XXL. It is made for the places first-year students actually wear it: the dissection hall, the physiology and biochemistry labs, and postings.

Find your size before you order

The product page has a size chart and a size finder. Measure your chest around the fullest part, or use your shirt size if it is given as a number such as 38 or 40 (that is usually your chest in inches). Choose a regular or a looser fit, and the finder suggests a size. The chart gives the shoulder, chest, length and sleeve of each size in inches and centimetres.

See it on you

Not sure how a white coat will look? The product page has a photo try-on: give us a photo of yourself and we make a picture of you standing in the coat. It shows how the coat looks, not how it fits, so use the size finder for your size.

Half sleeve or full sleeve?

Colleges set their own rules for the lab coat, so check your college's first-year list or ask your seniors before you buy. Half sleeves stay clear of the work in the dissection hall and the labs. Our guide to the lab coat for first year MBBS compares half and full sleeves and shows how to measure your size. Our first-year MBBS essentials checklist covers the lab coat and the other things to buy before anatomy starts, such as a dissection kit and a human skeleton model.

For students in the USA and UK

In the United States and the United Kingdom this coat is usually called a short sleeve lab coat or a white coat. It suits med school, nursing school, physician assistant, physical therapy and pre-med students for anatomy labs and practical classes. Check your school's dress code first: some labs and clinical settings ask for long sleeves. The size chart gives every measurement in inches and centimetres.
